The Engaging Learning and Creativity Interaction Technology (ELiCIT) Lab is an interdisciplinary research group within the computer science department at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). We investigate how to design next-generation human-computer interactions with existing and novel technologies, particularly in the context of educational and creativity-support interfaces for children and family groups. We observe children’s and adults’ natural interaction behaviors, design and develop new computing interfaces, and evaluate the effectiveness of these new interfaces in service of our goals. Currently, our research projects are clustered into three major themes: learning technologies for family groups, interaction design for creativity-support tools, and translational research within child-computer interaction. Visit our Projects page for more information about our work.
